Meet the Team

Rhiannon
FOUNDER and DIRECTOR
MID DEVON
Having worked in education for the past 15 years I have worked with an increasing amount of families who rely on food banks and food donations. Typically these don’t include important fresh, healthy produce and this is what inspired me to set up Devon Dig and Donate CIC.

Phil
DIRECTOR
MID DEVON
It’s a great privilege to be involved in Devon Dig and Donate CIC. I’ve been able to learn new skills and it’s wonderful to be part of a team that is trying to redress food inequality whilst creating a fab new community!
-
Sarah
DIRECTOR
EAST DEVON
I’m passionate about growing fresh food and believe everyone should have access to seasonal, locally grown produce. As we’ve learnt in the past few years, community is incredibly important both building one and supporting one another. That’s part of why Devon, Dig and Donate is such a wonderful thing to be a part of!

VOLUNTEER
EXETER
I am a complete newbie to gardening but love being outside. I wanted to volunteer as it’s a great cause and as a bonus I’d be able to learn new skills and meet lovely people in the process.

Ananda and Barry
VOLUNTEERS
EXETER
Ananda Nidhi and partner Barry Farrelly believe in the power of growing food and gardening to bring people together and build a strong community while fighting climate change. Fresh organic food makes a massive difference to the health and wellbeing of people and they're keen to put their green thumbs to good use.

Sonja
VOLUNTEER
SOUTH DEVON
I joined Devon, Dig and Donate because I had recently discovered a love of gardening and wanted to learn more about how to grow my own food. I'd not long moved to Devon and joining the project gave me the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and support the wider community.

Jess
VOLUNTEER
SOMERSET
I joined Devon Dig and Donate to meet likeminded people and give something back to the community. Devon Dig and Donate is a beautiful project with so many lovely volunteers. It's a real hoot!

CREDITON
We’re a couple of filmmakers turned farmers, starting our own experimental market garden in Mid Devon. Being new to the area, we joined DD&D to connect with a like-minded community and volunteer some of our time to a truly valuable cause. What we didn’t realise was how much valuable knowledge and experience we would gain from the other volunteers, there’s such a breadth of collective growing knowledge that we have found absolutely invaluable. We’re proud to put our filmmaking skills to use for DD&D as well as grow food along with an amazing team.

When I moved from London to Devon I knew I wanted to start gardening, and volunteering with this project has been such a great way to learn from other gardeners and meet new people - all while helping a good cause!
